Steel is one of the more premium materials used to manufacture a balcony and can give your surrounding area a higher end, modern look. Balconies that are manufactured from steel are strong and robust. It is very easy to customise it into any design that you like.
We have two finish options available. The first one is having the railings Hot Dipped Galvanised to ISO 1461:2009 which is a process of submerging the steel into a bath of molten zinc that will then protect the steel from harsh environments.
Our second options is having the railings Hot Dipped Galvanised and then Polyester Powder Coated to BS EN 12206:2004 & & BS EN 13438:2013. The Polyester Powder Coating gives the steel further protection by delivering a thicker coating than traditional paints.
Polyester Powder Coating is fantastic at not only retaining colour but also glossiness which is incredibly important for items that are exposed frequently to the sun and extreme weather.
Our second option is Aluminium. It is very durable and has a high resistance to harsh weather conditions.
If you choose to go with Aluminium, a Polyester Powder Coat that meets BS EN 12206:2004 and BS EN 13438:2013 is available.
Although, easier to maintain and only require being cleaned with a damp cloth we do suggest that if they are to be used in a coastal area to maybe look at the steel version as Aluminium has a tendency to discolour and corrode due to oxidation in the presence of salt-laden air.
The final option we have available is Glass. A Glass Balcony is probably the most modern option.
RC Engineering’s Glass Balconies have many benefits. The main one being that due to its durability, it is very unlikely to crack or break, making it a great option if you are looking for railings that are very low in maintenance.
Glass Railings have a high aesthetic appeal. Offering a contemporary look, many people believe that glass railings create the illusion of more space therefore making the area appear bigger. This is why many believe they are the best when it comes to visual appeal.
Unlike other handrails, Glass Balconies offer a solid barrier between the glass and the ground below. Therefore, reducing the chances of losing items and breaking smaller objects.
